Restoration Services For Insured Homeowners

From our extensive experience handling restoration services for insured clients, we firmly believe that our clients can make better and more informed decisions following emergencies when they proactively understand all the details of their insurance policy beforehand.

After all, disasters and emergencies are highly emotional times for most, meaning thinking may not be the clearest. Timely and appropriate actions may also be crucial to maintaining your policy and returning to your quality of life.

In any event, post-disaster is the worst possible time to begin sifting through the intricate details of your insurance policy to determine your rights and available courses of action. If you're already in a should've, would've, could've situation, please don't panic. We are here to help you understand your insurance rights and obligations and obtain the best restoration services for your needs.

What Is Homeowner's Insurance?

An insurance policy is a legally-binding contract between the insurer and the insured. You pay the homeowner's insurance policy premiums as directed and the insurer provides property and liability coverage's as outlined in the terms. While you, the homeowner have certain rights, you also have some obligations and exclusions to consider.

Most homeowners policies throughout America and Canada contain the same standard provisions and exclusions.

Homeowner's Insurance Policy Exclusions

Exclusions are typically incidences like war, earthquake, abandonment/neglect, flood, and termites; you'll need a separate "specialized" policy, such as flood insurance, to cover such incidences.

Homeowner's Insurance Policy Provisions

As to the provisions, most policies will have the following features for you to consider:

Insurance companies will often attempt to persuade clients to obtain multiple bids for repairs and take the cheapest option. While repair rates must be congruent with quality standards in your area, you are not required to accept the lowest bidder or a bidder promoted by your insurer. You have the right to choose the restoration company that best suits your needs.

While you can choose any repair firm you'd like, you should know that you have the right to insist your repair firm be licensed, insured, experienced, and reputable. Should you choose otherwise, you should also know that any liabilities, negative consequences, or unfavorable results are your responsibility, not the insurer.

You, the homeowner, are responsible to take emergency actions to safeguard your property from eminent danger and/or further damage. If you fail to do so, it may void your coverage of any resulting damages. However, your insurer is responsible to fully compensate you for the cost of emergency actions to prevent the property from further damages.

You are entitled to the fair cost of full restoration following covered damages. Your home will be restored to its pre-loss condition.
